After a brief refresher on paddling strokes on the water, we will set off from the put-in and head out to our campsite. The Guides will help draw you toward moments of mindful reflection as we move through the water towards the place where we’ll first connect with our surroundings. Once we find our campsite, you’ll set up your tents, gather firewood, and explore the area before dinner. Enjoy quiet time around the fire listening to the loons or the occasional barred owl, and experience moments of peace and contentment during the evening’s simple activities before tucking in for the night. Breathe deep these first moments of peace.

Waking only to the sounds of nature, the fresh morning air will rejuvenate the soul as we stretch and breathe deeply during our morning activities. This is the perfect day to revitalize in nature and let the day unfold magically. Questions are encouraged as we prepare for our first Forest Bathing Walk. Our forest therapy session will start at 10am and take approximately 2 hours. Sit in stillness allowing the connection to the land to invigorate your senses. After lunch on the site, we will be given an invitation to participate in the daily Sit Spot exercise and enjoy an artistic experience together. We will also spend time learning about prepping food for trips and some of the ins and outs of planning a backcountry excursion. Enjoy great food and gather around the fire to reflect on our learning and growth. Listen to the silence, enjoy the stars and rest deeply.

Today will be a slow day, with time for solitude, silence, stillness, solace, and synergy as we rest in and yet still engage with our surroundings. Enjoy the early morning mist on the lake, listen to the birds as they share the morning gossip, and breathe in the wonderful forest air as you wake up on this day of rest. Feel your heartbeat slow as you ground yourself to the earth again. Work on an art project, enjoy a swim, go for a leisurely paddle, and continue with the invitation to Sit Spot in this part of the woods. The afternoon will be filled with a 3 hour Forest Bathing session from our Forest Therapy Guide to continue our journey of healing and growth. Invitations to spend time in quiet and reflection will be offered. Continued learning around planning backcountry camping experiences will be shared with maps, routes, and recipes provided. This is a day with exceptional food, connecting experiences, new-found friends, and time to regenerate as we prepare to head home tomorrow.

Today is our final day in Bon Echo Provincial Park. The morning will start with a wonderful breakfast and a final Sit Spot exercise. As we pack up and begin our journey home we’ll enjoy the beauty of this special place and the wonderful connections we’ve made. This unique trip provided opportunities for healing, regeneration and more as you connected to Earth, recognized how every part of nature is affected by you, and you by it. And this is just the beginning. Take all that you’ve learned and incorporate it into your days ahead. Arriving at the take-out, a final circle of reflection will be offered to complete the experience. This truly has been an inner journey in the outdoors.
