Where it all started
“Nature has the power to heal because it is where we are from, it is where we belong, and it belongs to us as an essential part of our health and our survival.”
– Nooshin Razani
As a child, I always enjoyed spending time in nature. I felt a deep connection to all the critters I found there. From a young age I enjoyed camping, canoeing, and fishing, often bringing home fresh caught fish for breakfast or out in a boat looking for wildlife. I have continued to explore these loves by becoming a Girl Guide leader, taking extra training sessions that would allow me to take youth into back country spaces far from the conveniences of today’s world. Being able to share those journeys with young people has been inspiring! This led me to seek out further training and more experiences deep in the woods. I have completed my post secondary diploma in Outdoor Adventure Naturalist Studies and have led many trips to various locations across Canada and around the World.
As I’ve experienced tripping around our beautiful country I’ve realized that there is often a piece missing from the overall experience. Many adventure companies put an emphasis on travelling many miles, or “conquering” the trail. How far can you push yourself? How deep can you go? I feel this sort of experience misses a key opportunity that is available to folks who head out into the wilderness. Nature can provide such powerful healing, it helps us to connect more deeply with who we are. Mindfulness exercises are being incorporated in more businesses and organizations to encourage productivity and improved mental health and community spirit. By including mindfulness and forest therapy programming on my back country trips I am providing clients with an immersive, contemplative, eco-tour, or back country trip that has a lasting impact.
I desire greatly for folks to have meaningful travel experiences, ones that help to reset the body and mind, and bring deeper peace. We’ve all worked our way through some really challenging times these past few years. It’s time to get some of that lost time back. It’s time to explore the natural world with eyes wide open and hearts deeply connected. The journeys that you can experience at Finding Your Way Adventure Company can help to restore and rebalance our inner selves and provide additional strength to keep pushing through the mundane of everyday life. Come join me and experience An Inner Journey in the Outdoors!
